Julie Chrisley Sentenced to Seven Years in Prison

Julie Chrisley, the 51-year-old reality TV star known for her appearance on "Chrisley Knows Best," has begun serving her seven-year prison sentence at a facility in Lexington, Kentucky. In June 2022, after a three-week trial, Julie and her husband, Todd Chrisley, were found guilty on all counts of defrauding community banks out of over $30 million.

The Chrisleys rose to fame in 2014 with their reality show, which chronicled the opulent lifestyle of their family. However, behind the scenes, the couple was allegedly involved in a series of financial crimes, including wire fraud, bank fraud, conspiracy to commit bank fraud, and conspiracy to defraud the United States.

In addition to her prison sentence, Julie Chrisley was also ordered to pay $17.2 million in restitution to the banks she defrauded. Her sentence comes after her husband, Todd, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for his role in the scheme.
