He is a versatile player who can score, rebound, and pass. He is also a good defender. Haliburton is a valuable addition to the Kings and should be able to contribute right away.

Haliburton is a native of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He attended Oshkosh North High School, where he was a standout basketball player. He was named the Wisconsin Gatorade Player of the Year in 2018. He also led his team to the state championship game that year.

Haliburton committed to play college basketball for the Iowa State Cyclones in 2018. He started 32 games for the Cyclones as a freshman and averaged 6.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game. He was named to the All-Big 12 Freshman Team. He improved his numbers as a sophomore, averaging 15.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game. He was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team.
